IS AMERICAN DIAMOND ACTUALLY FROM AMERICA?

Actually, American Diamond is not a natural Diamond. Nor is it from America. Rather it is a man made Diamond which was first made in Russia.

American Diamond is the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide (ZrO₂). So, the technically correct name for American Diamond is Cubic Zirconia (CZ). There is lot of confusion about this stone. Some people consider it Synthetic Diamond, some consider it a Natural Gemstone and few also wear it as an astrological gemstone.

It is just a look alike of Diamond with similar outer appearance. But their physical properties are different. Cubic Zirconia is a very dense substance with a specific gravity (density) between 5.6 and 6.0 which is at least 1.6 times that of Diamond. Additionally, Diamond is the hardest natural material with an hardness of 10 on the Moh’s scale while CZ is positioned at 8. Furthermore, the RI factor and dispersion rate of the two stones are different as well.

Due to its resemblance to Diamond, low cost & affordability; it is widely used as a substitute for Diamond in jewellery. But American Diamond has no astrological importance as no artificially created stone has the powers and energy which can provide benefits. Natural Diamond is formed over years and have accumulated their magical powers from the Earth over these years.
